Retreat

Join us for 2025 Retreat

Monday, September 22nd - Thursday, September 25th

If we don’t stop to rest, we miss the rest of God: the rest he invites us to enter more fully so that we might know him more deeply… Some knowing is never pursued, only received. And for that, you need to be still.

~ Mark Buchanan - The Rest of God

Meet Our Guest Speakers

Mark & Jan Foreman are experienced leaders in worship, ministry, and spiritual formation. As co-authors of Never Say No and parents to Jon and Tim Foreman of the band Switchfoot, they bring a deep well of experience in worship leading, songwriting, counseling, seminary instruction, and conference speaking.

Deeply rooted in ministry, they are actively involved at North Coast Calvary Chapel in Carlsbad, California, where Mark served as lead pastor for 30 years. Mark is also the author of Wholly Jesus, offering further insights into faith and discipleship.

We are incredibly honored to welcome Mark and Jan to our Likewise Worship Soul Care Retreat, where they will share wisdom on sustaining a healthy and thriving worship ministry for the long haul!

FAQs about Retreats

Who is invited to the retreat?

Anyone who leads worship in any capacity! This means full-time, part-time or even volunteer. Music Directors (MDs) are also welcome! Spouses are not only welcomed but encouraged to come. If you have been a worship leader previously and are in a season of transition, we would love to have you too!

What time should I arrive / depart?

Make sure to arrive on Monday by 5p for check in, and plan to leave on Thursday by noon.

What is the schedule each day?

Our retreat schedule generally consists of one or two main sessions, with hours of free time in the afternoon to unplug (with soul care options). We also incorporate times of worship throughout the retreat, as well as breakout discussions with other worship leaders. Our goal is refreshment in Jesus!

Is there childcare?

We do not provide childcare for our retreats at this time.

What can I expect from this retreat?

REST.

This is a retreat, not a conference. The goal is not for you to go home with an overwhelming amount of new information to help you lead better. The goal is for you to slow down and be with Jesus. By the end of the retreat, you will be refreshed, recharged, and renewed.

Is the retreat for married or single worship leaders?

BOTH! We intentionally design our restorative retreats to reach and impact both married couples and single worship leaders at the same time.
